Vesuvianite is known widely as vessonite, vasanite, or idocrase. This green, brown, blue, or green silicate mineral was first discovered on Mount Vesuvius and was therefore named so by Abraham Gottlob Werner in 1795. This stone comes with a hardness of 6-7 Moh.
