Iron pyrite has a yellow metallic luster that gives it the nickname fool’s gold, and it is most often found alongside quartz, in coal beds, and as a replacement mineral in fossils. Ironically, despite the nickname pyrite can sometimes contain actual gold, usually so-called “invisible gold” contained inside the crystalline structure.
Phenomenal find and very useful material. I use it in my organite.
